Aerosol Directive 2008/47/EC PDF Print E-mail

New aerosol classification

according to Commission Directive 2008/47/EC

The automatic classification of our software ChemGes and Eureka takes now the amendments from the Directive 2008/47/EC into account during the hazard classification of aerosols.

The new point Chemical heat of combustion (KJ/g) was added to the substances and mixtures data bases. This value is required for a correct assessment of the flammability of aerosols according to the new directive.

Depending of the percentage of flammable components as well as the chemical heat of combustion the aerosols are classified as follows:

  • Highly flammable
  • Fammable
  • Not flammable

The user can modify these results in accordance with the other data he possesses.

In both cases, the hazard reevaluation of existing mixtures regarding the new data and methods is proposed.
