Restricted substances

Regulation 143/2011 and its corrigendum amend REACH Annex XIV (1907/2006) and publish a list of 6 restricted substances. They will be phase out by the EU.

The list targets the following substances:

• 5-ter-butyl-2,4,6-trinito-m-xylene (musk xylène),
• 4,4’-diaminodiphenylmethane (MDA),
• hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD),
• is(2-ethylexyl) phthalate (DEHP),
• benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP),
•  dibutyl phthalate (DBP).
