Compilation of Exposure Scenarios

Exposure scenarios must be prepared when a substance is manufactured or imported in quantities of 10 tonnes per year and above and classified as dangerous or as PBT/vPvB. An exposure scenario is a set of conditions that describe how a substance (as such, in a preparation or in an article) is manufactured or used during its life-cycle and how the manufacturer or importer or downstream user controls or recommends controlling exposure of humans and the environment.

GHS implementation in Europe: CLP

The GHS introduces new rules regarding:

the classification of substances and mixtures
the labelling depending on the hazard class and category
the content of the Safety Data Sheet

The GHS is a global system but may be implemented as building blocks.

The application of the GHS in Europe: the CLP

The CLP is the implementation of the GHs in the European Union.

REACH Annex II, compilation of SDS

A new regulation regarding compilation of the SDS came into force. It modifies REACH (1907/2006) Annex II (guidance on compilation of Safety Data Sheet). The aim is to implementthe features of the CLP regulation 1272/2008 on classification and labelling.
